    In the whisking she kept lifting her hand above the level of the fluid. This mixed in more air and would absolutely have caused it to fill with bubbles more quickly (but the additional tines absolutely helped). Always lift the whisk above the fluid frequently. It will enable more air to blend in.

    I'm watching this 7 years after it was posted. The sound is terrible and the closed captioning is way out of sync. I love these episodes so it's very disappointing trying to follow when the voices sound as if they're in an echo chamber and the subtitles don't match. The transcript is completely off too. Good grief, it's unwatchable. 😖😰

    Poor, sweet, young people, "... invented something new!" Old boomer here, my mother had been making zucchini bread back in the 70s and although zucchini, being a summer squash, has more water than a butternut squash my mom understood this and made sure to follow her aunts recipe which called for grated squash and using a bit more egg than similar "quick" breads. You kind of use this rule of thumb for vegetable based cakes like carrot cake etc .

    To add onto the other contributions I read about the pine needle beverage, I feel like the microbiology was a bit lacking. Even with the baker's yeast sample to compare, that's no was to be sure it was even yeast to begin with! It might have been bacteria for all we know, or a mix of the two. It's also interesting to know if the beverage is acidic, as that would make it safer. I'm a biologist and a fermentation fan so I've tried a few things at home and I have to say that her conclusion is fine: pick for yourself whether to drink it or not. I would though 😂

    I know how emotionally impactful colour can be, I don't want to deny that. But if glasses let me see a new colour I couldn't see before, like ultraviolet or something, I think my reaction would be like "oh, that's neat", not breaking down into tears.

    If you burn yourself, please don’t put it under cold water! Use room temperature water instead. The reason for that, is that there are a lot of people who suffer heart attacks after the from super hot to icecold experience. The human body can handle getting hot super quick very well but not getting cold fast, especially if you increase the temperature with something burning before. A friend of mine suffered a heart attack at age 16 because she dumped hot soup in her lap and sat in the shower with the cold water flowing over the burn wound.

    I just don't want seed oils, artificial preservatives, colorings and anything that affects the nutritional value of the food. It's not true that all chemicals are safe.

    About the pine needle sprite. In Finland we make syrup, wine and non-alcoholic sparcling wine from needles. BUT we use only the new growth, light green tips from a SPRUCE, cause the taste gets bad when the needles age. The taste is unique, not even close to sprite. The drink is also somewhat amber color. The drink can be found with the word kuusenkerkkä, which is also the name for those new growths in spruce.

    From my experience, you can put hydrogen peroxide on clothes stained with blood before washing them, or if you can wash them right after they were stained,I would recommend washing under cold water

    Wow. Holding high voltage piece of metal and flailing around with it, no protection? Now that is a death wish. Ever seen a 10kV -> 240V mid to home voltage transformer? And how it is usually boxed in a big grey box with alot of stickers with warnings on them not to fiddle around? You know why? BECAUSE THEY KILL YOU.

    Maybe I'm just dense, but I don't feel like it is actually explained why there are no Burger Kings? It's mentioned that they did open restaurants under the name Burger King after the trademark wasn't renewed. Did they simply have to close due to the competition from Hungry Jacks?

    My experience with go-flat cookies is not getting the "softened" butter right. This is a specific technical term, that I usually fudge for the sake of time. Accidentally melt the butter, just use it anyway and accept that the cookies will run and be thin.

    the moment you mentioned the plastic coating on soda cans, i thought “ohhhh that makes sense!” i never knew about the plastic coating, so imagine my surprise when i once put soda in my metal water bottle and then had to stop using it because all of my drinks tasted like metal after that! makes sense that there’s something to protect the metal from the drink.
